Hi, I have had an over active thyroid on and off since the birth of my first child 12 years ago. My doctor treats it with neo mercazole. Once it stabilizes I stop medication until I need to take it again, which I know when, because of the symptoms I experience and having a blood test to confirm this. I have not had medication for approx 6-8 weeks. At the moment my blood test was showing normal but the right side of my thyroid is enlarged (12ml) and the left is (4ml). There are two hypoechoic nodules in the left lobe measuring up to 6mm which the doctor thinks represent colloid nodules and there is no evidence of retrosternal extension or lymphadenopathy.
